Sealed bids for the construction of the project will be received at the Forrest General Hospital Service Support Building, Eagle Room (3rd Floor) at 125 S 28th Avenue, Hattiesburg, Mississippi until November 7th, 2024 at 2:00 PM CST. At that time the bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bidding options: Bids may be submitted in person on date of bid from one hour before bid time up until time of bid, or for those interested, bids can be electronically submitted prior to bid time at www.forresthealthplans.com under the project name. DO NOT mail bids.
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
All work contained on plans and specifications as prepared by Davis Stokes Collaborative, PC (Architect) including the construction of an approximate 11,000 SF expansion to the existing Orthopedic Institute facility at 27 Southern Pointe Parkway in Hattiesburg, MS containing six(6) operating rooms and support space and the renovation of select areas within the existing facility.

Bidding documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Bidders are required to register with the designated website as a plan holder to submit a bid package. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a bid for the project. All official notifications, addenda, and other bidding documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Architect will be responsible for bidding documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
The issuing office for the bid documents is the following: Plan House Document Management, 1 Churchill St, Hattiesburg, MS 39402. Prospective bidders may obtain or examine the bidding documents at the issuing office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, and may obtain copies of the bidding documents from the issuing office as described above. Partial sets of bidding documents will not be available from the issuing office. Neither the Owner nor Architect will be responsible for full or partial sets of bidding documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources
other than the issuing office. Bid documents are non-refundable and must be purchased through the website. Cost of bid documents is anticipated to be $400 per hard copy and $200 per digital copy.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE:
A pre-bid conference for the project will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Eagle Room, 3rd Floor FGH Service Support Building, 125 S 28th Avenue, Hattiesburg, MS. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required.
BIDDING REQUIREMENTS:
Bids shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank bid forms provided with the project manual and must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check or acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the base bid. Said security to be forfeited, as liquidated damages, not penalty, by a bidder who may be awarded the contract, but who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute the contract and post the required performance and payment bonds in the form and amount, and within the time specified. The bid bond, or the certified check, if used in lieu thereof, shall be payable unconditionally to Forrest County General Hospital.
Bids on the project must be received on or before the time specified above, and no bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time and date for the receipt of bids for a period of forty-five (45) days. All bids submitted must comply with the requirements of Chapter 3, Title 31 (Sections 31-3-1, et. seq.) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, and the performance of any contract awarded shall be bonded in accordance with Chapter 5, Title 31 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.
Bidders who are non-residents of the State of Mississippi must also comply with the provisions of Section 31-3-21(3) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.
